Tidal Software Announces Strong Second Quarter Results for Fiscal Year 2009

Market Interest in Datacenter Automation Solutions Drives Third Best Quarter in Company History

PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/27/09 -- Tidal Software, a leading provider of application scheduling and performance management software, today announced results for the second quarter of fiscal 2009, ending December 31, 2008. The company experienced moderate growth in overall revenue compared to the same quarter last year. Also compared to the same quarter last year, this quarter delivered a combined growth of 26% for professional services and maintenance revenue, led by strong uptake of professional services for new deployments. Another highlight was license revenue growth in EMEA, which more than doubled, indicating increasing acceptance of the company's products. The company continued to be profitable.

New customers also spanned industries and included big names like JP Morgan Chase Investment Management, as well as Blue Cross Blue Shield of California, McKesson, Sanofi Pasteur, and Spectra Labs among others.

Existing customers who added to their Tidal solutions represented diverse sectors and include well-known enterprises such as Citibank, Microsoft, Kellogs, and Coldwater Creek, among others. Existing customers who purchased additional products and services expanded datacenter automation activities by taking one of several approaches, which include extending their Tidal job scheduling automation solutions to support additional applications and systems, and further extending their Tidal based automation by adding application management solutions, as well as IT process automation solutions.
